Fit training into a busy week

A crowded calendar can make training hard to fit in. Start with the week you actually have, and choose training days around it.

Protect fewer days, not more

Look at an ordinary week and find the days least likely to be taken over by work, family or travel. Two or three days you can keep are more useful than five days you regularly skip. If one day is always uncertain, leave it out of the plan and treat any activity on that day as a bonus.

Book it like an appointment

Give each session a start time and put it in your calendar. A booked session is easier to move than an unbooked one is to find. If your days are unpredictable, choose a backup slot for each session in advance.

Let busy days be shorter

General guidance for adults says short chunks of activity count. On a crowded day, a shorter session is a real session, not a failure. In LiftIQ you can set a lower minutes limit and the plan removes sets to fit it, without removing whole exercises.

An everyday example

Sam works late on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Instead of a five-day plan, Sam chooses Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, books each in the calendar at a set time, and keeps a 30-minute option for Wednesdays that run long.

Your next step. This week, write down the two or three days you are most confident you can protect, and add them to your calendar with a start time.
