Start smaller than you think

A routine that feels easy is more likely to last than one that feels like a stretch. You can always add more once it is part of your week.

Change one thing at a time

Add one small change, keep it for a week or two, and only then consider the next. Changing many things at once makes it hard to tell what is working.

Review each week

Once a week, ask what you enjoyed and what was hard to fit in. Keep what worked and adjust one thing that did not.

An everyday example

Lee wants to be more active. Instead of a new five-day plan, Lee starts with two short walks a week, keeps them for two weeks, then adds a third.

Your next step. Write down one small change you can keep for the next two weeks, and when you will review it.
